I read an article today that discussed how the video game industry is becoming a serious career Field. In America there are currently over 200 schools that offer classes related to video game development. Some of which include New York University, the Art Institute of Seattle and Marist College. As this new frontier of interactive media becomes more and more popular, more people such as art and movie directors are taking part in the development of these games as a new way of telling a story that moves the target audience.
In more recent years games have been made to higher standards. This includes better visual engines to produce better graphics to promote more realism, as well as background music to add more to the emotions portrayed in the cinematic. But it's not only the visual effects that have improved the themes and story of this interactive media have evolved to the point that many games are thought to have story line equal to those in movies. It is because of this that cause these seemingly simple media form to be increasingly popular and causes the gaming industry to make a hefty profit and to make their games better and more user friendly to their target audience.
